We at Tangencia, believe in action. SPRINT is a method for action. It is a five-step process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers. Based upon grounded theory and developed at Google Ventures, it’s an amalgam of business strategy, innovation, behavioural science, design thinking, and more—packaged into a process for use within your learning.
Working together in a SPRINT, you shortcut the endless debate cycle. Instead of waiting to launch a fully functioning product to understand if an idea is any good, participants create a realistic prototype in five days. Furthermore, customer feedback is sought on your prototype; allowing you to decide your next steps based upon real data from real customers!
The SPRINT facilitates rapid evaluation, product/service creation, and testing so as to minimise cost, time, and chance of failure.
The five step process combines the following elements to allow participants to move from ideation to minimum viable product within tight timeframes:
Map - identify the problem domain and pick an important place to focus.
Sketch - draw competing solutions to create a rich set of options.
Decide - make difficult decisions that turn participant ideas into a testable hypothesis.
Prototype - create a hi-fidelity model of most promising solution.
Test - deliver prototype to potential customers/users and gather feedback.
